For your viewing pleasure

Hello! I hope you are all doing fabulous things out in the world! I wanted to let you all know what I have been up to lately. Hopefully I will get better at this blogging thing soon. In the past week I screenprinted new business cards! 2 colors on the front and 1 color on the back Brian and I planted some pretty flowers in our front yard. The yellow ones are Sweet Broom and the Magenta one is a New Zealand Tea Tree I made 4 martini glasses for a donation. I started working with wire + beads a few years ago while wrapping wire around the stems of glasses. At the same time I was making magnets with images that I had drawn displayed under the glass. I merged the 2 thoughts together a couple of years ago and that's where my graphic jewelry started! ;) It was fun to go back and create these glasses and incorporate the graphic jewelry. This week I will be busy preparing for Down2Earth. It's an event my gracious friend Rae has been putting together that will be taking place in Austin, Texas. For those in Austin, please come check it out! rsvp here www.tempoevents.org Friday, April 21, 2006, 6-10 TEMPO,LLc and the AVEDA Experience Center of Barton Creek in Austin are inviting hundreds of colorful earthlings to kick off a spectacular Earth Day Pre-party & Benefit. Nature inspired works will be presented and performed by some of our favorite arts groups to raise the spirit of community, raise awareness and raise support for that which connects us most. Learn more about local and regional issues facing the environment and be moved by Global rhythms. Over the weekend I worked on my display. I sewed a banner out of an old dress that I had been hanging onto for the past 7 years. I think that black + white rocks work nicely with my jewelry and I found an old type tray in our house that wasn't being used. More soon. Have a super week!

first post

It's the first entry in my new blog! I'm really excited about it! I started this because I wanted a place to share new things happening with me + my business. So ~ I've just finished 6 new images. The deer and the unicorn are my favorites! My boyfriend brian and I recently traveled to Houston to see the closing weekend of the Basquiat exhibit. The show was amazing + so cool to see his work up close. He used so many different surfaces as canvases + each painting had so much depth and so many textures. I loved this one! The Happily Handmade Giveaway started last week! I'm one of the participating sponsors. You can register thru my site and several other indie shops to win 1 of the 45 gift boxes! You can enter once through each of the sponsors ~ so the more shops you visit, the more chances you have to win! Winners will be announced on March 31.
